The Government will enhance consumers' awareness of the spam problem and provide the public with accurate information and useful resources to prevent and tackle the problem of spam.

The Government has launched an information and public education campaign. The campaign will target at different groups of people, including youngsters, adults, businesses and industry players, so that all of us can do our part to fight spam.

The promotional campaign includes the following activities:

  • the launching of a dedicated website which promotes the public awareness on anti-spamming and provides the public with tips and guidelines to tackle spam;
  • the broadcast of series of short radio programmes to disseminate the anti-spam messages to different sectors of the community;
  • the production of teaching materials for the primary and secondary schools to educate the youngsters to play their part in denying the spammers;
  • the staging of roving exhibitions at popular shopping arcades throughout the territory; and
  • the production and distribution of a dedicated anti-spam leaflet.
